Getting Control Of Anxious Breath

I was sick for a prolonged period of time and developed anxiety. Breathing was so difficult! One night my husband started a fire in the fireplace, and I sat down in front of it with my legs crossed in a yoga-like position. Within just a minute my breathing eased, and I begin to feel much less anxious. I could breathe normally! Thereafter I used that same position to get control of my breathing. I'm not sure why it works, but it does!
